That Which is Lost

Post by Destiny's Gate on Thu Oct 28, 2010 8:39 pm

Plot:
After the events in Termina (Majora's Mask), Link decides to go back home to Hyrule. The Skull Kid, meanwhile, decides to follow him, with his fairy friends, of course. They depart, heading deep into the Lost Woods. Too bad the forest has different plans for them. When they at last find their way out, they find themselves in a completely different world, where only fairies live. Perhaps Link can find his old friend, but there's a problem. It seems someone's been stealing the fairies, and it's up to Link to save the world.

Characters:
Link: The Lone Kid
Skull Kid: Destiny's Gate
Tatl: Kenaron1703
Tael:
Navi:
Fairy Thief: The Lone Kid
Fairies: Everyone (unless otherwise specified)
Malon:

Fairy Thief:
Character Name: Kafei
Username: The Lone Kid
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Weapons: Knives/Light projectiles
Powers: Magic Masks
Appearance:
Short Bio: Kafei and Anju were about to be happily married, but sadly even after Link had managed to slay the evil spirit within the Majora's Mask Kafei remained to be a child and Anju became fatally ill. This is the last will of the evil spirit as revenge against link for what he did.

Kafei enraged and depressed, goes after link in search for a cure for the curse that has befallen him and his beloved wife Anju. On his journey a dark figure approaches him with a possible cure to capture faeries and use their magic to cure the curse. Supplied with a set of magical masks and light knives Kafei sets out for his cure with the only source of faeries he knows.... Link!

I'd like to try one each, since this is a relatively small cast. If necessary, we can double up.

"You know, if you want to follow Link out of Termina, you could just ask him," Tatl said, shaking her little head. "You don't have to sneak around. He does realize you were a jerk because of the mask."

The Skull Kid shushed the fairy. "Yeah, but no one else around here knows that." He glanced around to make sure no one had noticed him or his fairy friends. They were near the Romani Ranch, where Link was collecting supplies for his journey to... well, wherever he was going. Skull Kid had no idea where Link was headed, nor did he particularly care. He just had to get out of Termina before someone saw him and tried to get revenge for the stuff the Majora's Mask made him think was a good idea at the time.

"Hmm, Hmm, Hmm...Chateau Romani...Sorta like Lon Lon Milk...Hmm, Hmm, Hmm...Only not..."
Link was humming to himself while he packed his supplies. He was in a good mood, considering he just vanquished an ancient, evil... spirit mask thingy... and saved the world (for the second time)!
Although he had fun here and had made many new friends (some who kinda looked like old friends), he did not find the one friend he was actually searching for: Navi.
Therefore, he decided it would be best if he left as soon as possible, in order to continue his quest.

Kafei sat against the wall by his old hideout in clock town. He spoke softly to himself about the adventure he was about to depart on "I really don't want to do this..., but I must if I want to get the cure for anju and rid this curse off my body." He sits there for a few more moments before he decided it was time to prepare. Stopping by the local shops he stocks up on supplies, grabs his satchel full of magical masks the dark stranger gave him, and left clock town in search of Link and faeries.[i]

Tatl's wings drooped and she shook in irritation. "Just talk to the looser!" she snapped at Skull Kid. "If you don't, I'll go and tell him your following."

"Can't we wait until we're out of Termina?" he begged, ducking behind a tree once again as Link headed off the ranch. He glanced quickly around, then headed off after Link. He'd talk to him before he got on the horse. Yeah, that would work. That way he could keep up without having to run.

"Ah-ah...AH-CHOOOO."
Link sneezed violently. Maybe he had caught a cold. Glancing over at Clock Town, Link wondered exactly how he was going to get back to the lost woods. He came in through the clocktower, but could he go out that way too?
As he stood there thinking, he saw Skull Kid sneaking around a giant log, with Tatl following him.

Skull Kid paused mid-sneaky step. Then, rather comically, he dived behind a fallen log, Tatl and Tael still hovering above where he'd just been. Realizing this problem, he hopped up, grabbed the two fairies, and dived back behind the log holding them. "You saw nothing!" he called out from behind the log. "There's no one here. You're just... seeing thing! Yeah, that's right!"

Tatl rolled her eyes, an anime sweat drop appearing for a brief moment. She escaped Skull Kid's grip and flew over the log. "Hey, Link, this guy's following you out of Termina. You mind?"

Kafei walked out of clock town to see out of the corner of his eye Link, Skull Kid, and their faeries. He scurried into the nearby tall grass weary of a green chu chu that is bouncing around. He thought to himself there they are!!, but he refused to strike knowing there was too much daylight and room for them to run. For now he just lays there in the grass thinking back to his dear anju and a picture they took before the curse afflicted them.

Even though he knew he didn't want to do any of this anju needed him more then ever. He was willing to do anything to get her back. For now he just watches them talk as the green chu chu starts to bounce by ever so slowly.

"Huh? But I thought you just made up with the giants. Are you sure you want to head back to Hyrule so soon? After all, you haven't even gotten to rest after all that's happened."

Skull Kid peeked out from behind his fallen log. "Yeah, but the giants went home to sleep again, and I get it this time," he quickly added, "but now everyone here in Termina hates me." He swallowed hard. "I heard the Bombers say they'd make sure I never go into Clock Town ever again, and I heard a couple others saying they'd hang me or put me in stocks and throw tomatoes at me or worse." He was literally shaking. "I can't stay here anymore."

The whole time Skull Kid was sneaking around, following Link, he stuck close to his sister Tatl, being sure not to get too far behind. He had stayed out of the conversation for a long time, because he wasn't brave like his sister, and tended to keep to himself. He evantually then brought up his own voice to speak,

"And if that happened to Skull Kid, I could only imagine what they would do to me since I was with him the entire time," Tael responded, "so we'd really apperciate it if we could all just come along. Maybe we can help you with something in return for doing so?"

Navi, was floating amongst thousands of fairies, all of which lived in a single world, hidden in the lost woods. Before the Great Deku Tree died, before Link ever entered Kokiri village as a baby, he had created this world for fairies, so that they would have a safe haven whenever their duty was completed. Navi looked at her reflection in the water, with a rather bored look. True, she had accomplished her mission, which was to guide Link until he defeated Ganondorf, but she couldn't help but feel...empty. Without constantly nagging at Link and just traveling with him, it was almost as if she had lost her very own purpose in this world,

"It's a heaven and hell at the same time..." She muttered to herself.

Link gave a small smile.
"Oh, you don't have to do that." His smile broadened into a grin.
"I was just making sure you really wanted to, that's all. If you wanna come with me so badly, then I'm fine with it. But first, you wouldn't happen to know how to get back, would you?"

"Go back?" Skull Kid said, blinking. "Uhhhhhhh...." He looked up helplessly at Tatl. To tell the truth, he wasn't really sure how to "go back" to where Link wanted to go. "Do you mean back to that weird forest? It's through the... Clock tower... Crap."

Tatl smacked Skull Kid upside the head. "This isn't good. Not good at all," she muttered. "We can't just waltz into Clock Town with Skull Kid. People would skin him alive." She was pacing back and forth in the air thinking. When a thought came to her, she stopped. "Wait Link!" she cried, turning to him. "You think one of those masks you got would work on Skull Kid, too? One of the magic transformation ones. If he went in as a Goron or something, no one would notice!"

"Hmm..." Link seemed to be thinking intensely. "That could work...oh I just remembered! I want to go to the carnival before we leave!"
He turns to Tael with puppy dog eyes.
"Can we? Can we? Huh? Huh?"

When Link turned to Tael and started to ask him something, he shifted around in the air uncomfortably. He wasn't really the type to take control of situations or open up his mouth. He looked at Skull Kid, Link, and then Tatl. After searching around at faces for an answer for a bit he turned to Tatl, looking for help.

The Skull Kid also looked up at Tatl hopefully. He'd always been a prankster, and so he was never allowed into the carnival. If anyone ever saw him, they had kicked him out of town and told him not to come back. "Can we? Please?"

Tatl sighed. She was obviously outnumbered in this. "Fiiiiiiine. We can go to the carnival. Just give him a mask so no one recognizes him."

Kafei glared at the green chu as it slowly approached him. The chu slithered away and Kafei slowly stood up watching the group walk away. He took his mask off for a second to take in the beauty of Termina field as he mutters to himself "Hmm I don't know if I'll ever see the beauty of this field of again... It reminds me of the first time I saw Anju." Kafei slowly follows the group as he heard they were going to go back to clock town for the carnival. He tells himself "While they're fooling around in the carnival I'll go check out the clock tower to see if I can find a way to open it..."

Kafei had only heard stories of the fairy world, but he knew it would be key if he wanted to get enough faeries to cure Anju of her illness. After basking in the glory of Termina Field he put his mask back on and made his way onward.

As the five of them walked, flew, and road toward clock town, Link said nothing. The only thing on his mind was Navi. Where is she?, he wondered. How do I even know she's in the forest? She could be in the Sacred Realm or Death Mountain for all I know.

Tatl flew a little closer to Link. "What's up? You've got that look on your face."

"That look when you're thinking about something and it isn't turning out the way you want or it's something a little sad." Tatl had seen that look more than once while with Link in Termina. So many things had happened, and Tatl knew every expression Link had and what each meant, even if he didn't think she did. "So what's up? You're not mad about the Skull Kid following you, are you?"

Tael shifted around in the air uncomfortably, because he knew that his sister was good at sensing these types of signs and always would get angry if she didn't hear about the problem. So, Tael decided to speak up,

"U-um...you know...you can tell Tatl...honestly..." He said quietly.

(I say when Kafei fines the fairy world, he should encounter Navi, but Navi gets away...((or is so annoying he doesn't want her XD)) )

Kafei slipped back into clock town and into the huge clock tower. The doors were a bit big, but its nothing Kafei had not dealt with before during his adventure with link getting the ceremonial mask. As Kafei looked around the dark clock tower the creaking sounds of the water wheels could be heard echoing throughout the tower. There was no sign of the mysterious masked salesman link had encountered during his journey and who gave Kafei his first mask, the Keaton mask. As Kafei descended deeper into the basement he murmured to himself "It's so dark and quaint..." Kafei could swear he heard the song of healing echoing in the background as others sufferings have been healed by said song.

When Kafei stepped into to the basement he paused instantly. Right before his eyes, beside one of the water wheels, was a door he have never seen before growing up. As he approached the door it glowed with symbols of another world to his... He felt a sense of peace and familiarity that he had only felt while next to Anju after Link received the couples mask from them. It started to fill Kafei with strong feelings as he started to cry ever wondering if he'd be able to save Kafei. Suddenly the organ started playing the song of healing as if it were heeding Kafei's call of pain and anguish for his loved Anju. He yelled out in pain "I miss you Anju, I want you back!!" After wiping the tears from his eyes he noticed the doors slowly opened as a bright white light drew Kafei in. As the door slowly closed Kafei was swept away with a vision of Anju and himself kissing in the room after their wedding putting Kafei at peace...

"Navi? That sounds like a fairy name," Tatl said thoughtfully. "Were you looking for--?"

"Hey guys! We're at Clock Town!" Skull Kid said, pointing. "Erm, Link, mind passing me a mask? ...And not the Deku one, please?"
