Kids of Destiny Islands
Plot
There's a new girl on the island, one who came during a meteor shower. Sora and Riku want to know who she is.
In other words, this is the story of how Sora and Riku met Kairi and because friends.
Characters
Sora: JupiterLightning
Riku: Shana-chan4ever
Kairi: Destiny's Gate
If we need Selphie, Tidus, or Wakka, we'll fill them as necessary. And if there are any other FF characters (who don't appear in the games) you want to turn into Destiny Island kids, go for it.

Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
Kairi wasn't sure where she was or why she was here. She'd been with her grandmother in the library when a storm had rolled in. The sky had been so dark, but there was no lightning or rain. Just darkened sky. Then the ground had shook so hard that Kairi was thrown off her feet and into a shelf. The books rained down on her, but they never hit her. She'd thrown up her arms to protect herself from the impact that never came.
When she'd lowered her arms, she found herself on a warm, sandy beach. The water was licking her feet and the bright sunlight hurt her eyes. She stood and looked around. "Grandma?" she asked, though no one was around. Tears stung her eyes. "Mommy? Anybody?" She sniffled. "Where is everybody?"
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
On the other side of the beach, Riku was relaxing on the long trunk of the paopu tree, bored out of his mind.
"Man," he thought, "I wish everyone would come to the island already. It's no fun here without them."
At that point he had decided to practice his sword-fighting. He hopped off the tree and was heading for the treehouse when he saw someone huddled in the sand.
"Is that Selphie?" he wondered, and went over to investigate.

Kairi didn't realize anyone had approached her until she saw the feet right in front of her in the sand. She stumbled back, away from the strange boy, but stepped in a dip in the sand and fell in the water. Now soaked and scared as well as lost, Kairi burst into tears, sobbing and not caring that there was a strange boy before her.

"Hey, are you all right?"
He knelt down next to her and wiped the saltwater out of her eyes.
"Come on. I'll get you a towel."
He stood her up and started to make his way towards the waterfall.
"Who is she?" he wondered,"Where did she come from?"

Still crying, Kairi followed Riku, holding onto his hand. As they walked, she wiped at her tears, but they just kept coming. She was lost, she didn't know where any of her family was, or why she was here.
I wish that pretty lady was here, she thought, thinking back to the pretty blue-haired girl that had saved her from the monsters before back home in Radiant Garden. She'd know what to do.
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
Sora hadn't got up on time like he was supposed to, so he made it to the island later than usual. The brunette boy spotted Riku heading over to the waterfall with someone he didn't recognize. Curious, he sprinted toward his best friend, catching up to him before he got to the Secret Place's entrance.
"Hey! Sorry I'm late. Who's that?" he asked.

"Huh? Oh, Sora! Come help me will you? Go get a towel from the shack!"

Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"I'm Kairi," she whispered in response to Sora's question. Not that she thought either of them heard her or that they would care. Back home, none of the boys liked to hang around the girls and so none of them cared what her name was either.
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"Hey," Riku said gently, sitting her down next to the waterfall,"What's your name? Where did you come from?"

"I'm Kairi," she said shyly, burying her face in the towel. "I'm from..." She bit her lip. Would they believe her? "I'm from Radiant Garden. But I don't know how I got here or how to go home."
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
Riku's eyes suddenly widened. Another world? Could it really be...?
"Say, Kairi, how did you get here? Did you come by boat?"

Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"I dunno. I was back home in the library and then there was an earthquake and I was here on the beach." Kairi dried herself off with the towel and handed it back to them. "It was like magic."
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"Mayor?" Kairi repeated in some surprise. "What's a mayor? Where I'm from, we just have a king who runs everything."
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"The mayor is sort of like a king, only on a much smaller scale."
Riku looked out towards the other island.
"I'll go on ahead and tell 'em you're coming. Sora, you take her back on your boat."
He walked half way to the dock before stopping. He turned his head slightly.
"My name's Riku."
Then he ran off.

Kairi followed Sora shyly, looking around the island as they walked. This place was nice. There was a warmth here that she somehow hadn't felt back home. "So you go everywhere by boat?" she asked. She'd never seen so much water before.
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"Yeah, pretty much," Sora replied. "This is the play island for us kids. You're lucky Riku was here early. Anyway, our parents used to row us over here, but they figured we're old enough to do it ourselves now."
Once he led her to the dock, he hopped into the small row boat and held is hand out to her.

Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
Kairi gratefully took Sora's hand and sat in the boat next to him. She looked out over the open ocean. Water as far as the eye could see. Somehow this frightened her just a bit. No sign of any big cities like her home. She was far from anything that she knew, and that made her feel like crying again.
She blinked back the tears and continued to stare out into the endless blue. "It's so pretty here," she said quietly. "But... does anything ever happen here?"
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"I never knew there were any other worlds before now," Kairi said. "Well, except for a story grandma told me a few times, but she always is making up stories so I thought that was the same." She looked at Sora. "Where did Riku get the idea there are other worlds out there?"
Re: Kids of Destiny Islands
"Oh, there's some door in this spot we like to call the Secret Place," Sora replied.
After some more rowing, he squinted his eyes and grinned. "The main island is right up there!" He began rowing at a faster pace and soon made it to the island.
After tying his boat, he hopped out and extended his hand for Kairi once more.
"Riku should be around here somewhere. Hopefully he was able to talk to the mayor."
