Matthew gave a nod before deciding to explain his stragedy. When it came to planning he was absolutely excellent. He considers everything, even the people that may not like to work together, when he puts his plans together. He grabbed a piece of chalk and began to draw out his plan,

"Okay, here's what we'll do. We'll divide the entire army into two groups, the close combat, which is any soldier that fights on ground with weapons such as swords, axes, and lances, etc. Then we'll have a long distance group, which will contain gunmen, archers, snipers, as well as our aircrafts. Here's the plan for the close combat group. We'll start out with the calverly in the front lines, to send a good attack on the enemy, with Roland leading. Then the second line will be our sword wielders or other weapons in that area, for example, Flare, Markcus, and Kaida will be in this grop. Then, then third line will contain some spear soldiers. Then, as for the Long distance," Matthew continued, "I have a different plan. I was thinking a better spot for long distance attack will be on this hilltop right here, located in the middle of the battlefield. I was thinking we could somehow use Lauren's plane to transport archers, snipers, and gunmen, such as myself, Flyche, and Akira. Then, from there, she can shoot down some enemy planes with the other vessels on our side." He concluded, dropping the piece of chalk that he had been using,

"Is that a clear plan? Any questions?"

Flyche looked at the plans and agreed, a higher spot would be better for him and the other snipers to snipe out any monsters that are getting too close to the base. Afterall, the base is where all the injured soldiers were to go for medical attention. He knew that losing soldiers would make their chances of winning go down, just as anyone would guess,

"I understand." He said with the other snipers.

Flare let out a simple "hmmph", for the planning was good, but she would never admit that a human had actually planned something that would work out. She decided that she would agree to it, because she figured that at least with this plan less HUMANS would be killed, because she never expected that she herself would be killed,

"Fine."

Roland nodded, seeing the logic in the plan. "But wouldn't it be better to have the archers and snipers in the back, where it's harder to reach?" he asked thoughtfully. "In the middle of the field, they're the target."

Akira stepped forward. "Archers and snipers aren't close combat specialists. They should be in the back of the line or somewhere up high," she stated. "We'd be useless in the middle of the field."

"Yes sir." Markus agreed with the orders; he was more than ready to be on the front lines.

Lauren however took issue. She approached the general and spoke her mind. "High ground gives an advantage. The hill is perfect. As for the transport, I can hold a few brave souls in my bomb bay, but the rest will have to be moved by my fellow flyers. Finally, while my Deathblade can engage air targets, its no dogfighter. Its tuned for close-air-support."

Kaida looked as if she were not listening. However, her affirmative over the plans suggests otherwise...

"Ok."

Matthew then gave a winning smile, he then flipped the chalkboard to the other side, which had tons of notes, that had been pinned onto a tack board,

"Exactly. However, I have been studying our enemy, and taking notes. Judging by what I've put together, most of the land monsters don't have a steady foot, meaning they have trouble climbing on any surface except flat land. As for the others that take air, with the airships and archers, they will be shot down. I checked the weather conditions and a fog is over the lands. However, when I was investigating, it wasn't at the top of the mountain. Meaning, you can see everything below the mountain, but if you're on the ground, you are unable to see what's up the mountain," Matthew explained, "if this fog clears, there's a route that will lead to safety, I will be on this mountain as well, so I will show the way or make changes if I find it dangerous for our soldiers. As for the units, I put Roland in charge of the close combat unit, and I'll be in charge of the Long Distance. Lauren will hold charge of the sky."

"Sounds like you've got this all figured out." He looked around, "Lets get moving."

"Yes general." Lauren began thinking about how she would arrange the flyers.

"I suppose this plan will have to do," Roland said. "All right, close combat follow me!" He lifted his halberd into the air to show where he was standing, and started to the edge of the field where he could assign people into smaller groups for the battle.

At the command, Kaida automatically followed Roland to where he's heading...

Uncharacteristically, she wanted to get this thing over with. A wash of fatigue reminded her the reason why. She furrowed her brows slightly, carefully so as to not let anyone seeing a change in her expression. Normally, she will not be feeling tired at all... by why...?

She quickly cleared her thoughts aside. Musings can wait; but not instructions.

And damn right she'll be fully concentrating on it.

Matthew fired his rifle once in the air, to signal the long-distance to meet with him. He was rather excited for the battle, but he clearly knew when he has hit his limit.

Flyche was the first to get to Matthew, rather silently. He tried to keep to himself and only talked when nessacery, because it was his way of life.

Flare when to where Roland was, her arms crossed with a sigh.

Akira had seemingly zoned out after awhile, lost her in own thoughts. When she the heard the sound of the rifle, she quickly snapped out of her reverie. She glanced around and figured out that it was a signal, and she sprinted over to Matthew and the others.

She stared at Flyche for a moment. She had seem him often at the camp, but never really got the chance to speak to him and many of the other long distance soldiers for that matter.

She walked over to Flyche and stood next to him. "So, er, this battling is going to be pretty exciting," she said softly to him.

Markus joined the other melee fighters with who was to be his commanding officer. He surveyed his peers; most appeared to be strong. This was good, for he would have to trust these people with his life.

Lauren gathered the other flyers in a corner of the field and started organizing them by role. The air-to-air, the air-to-ground and the transports.

"As long as everything goes as planned, everything will work out great," Matthew responded, "however, if there were to be a problem, I already have a back up plan, that will be the second hand that will catch us." He responded before making sure that everyone else was prepared.

Flyche didn't respond at first, almost as if he was distracted. He was staring up at the sky for a few moments before looking straight ahead, then spoke,

"Yes. Exciting, but a rather dramatically sad scene as well," Flyche responded, "who are we to judge...?" For all we know, those characterized as "monsters" could consider US "monsters"

Akira thought for a moment. "You know, I've never thought of it that way. Several of them attacked my village, which is why I'm here. I want to avenge those who lost their lives. Although they're monsters, humans are capable of attacking innocents as well. This makes me wonder who exactly are the monsters?"

Kaida was getting impatient. Despite it was just 5 minutes after they have gathered around, she felt the urge to growl in annoyance and to move off to somewhere else. Like to the bed. She had felt the fatigue coursing through her body and she cursed inwardly for not expecting it to be a long day.

...

Days before, she tried to increase her training session, so as to build up more stamina and to prepare for the invasion. She should have known that they are moving; or she could have reverted back to the usual training sessions. But today... Just hurry up...

Roland placed a hand on Kaida's shoulder. "Patience," he whispered. "If we are too hasty, we might ruin everything."

She tensed. She had not displayed her annoyance over waiting for Roland's orders and the gathering. How did he know...?

And Roland is supposed to give orders. Now why is Roland beside her...?

"It was written all over your face," Roland said, "as was your surprise at me noticing. I'm no mind reader."

He glanced at his commanding officers. Where were the monsters, he wondered. He'd ask, but it was too dangerous to leave his post if they suddenly appeared.

(Having issues with pictures on Photobucket. The old picture went wonky, so I uploaded a new one and edited it to be smaller.)

Matthew then walked up to Lauren's craft. He then shot a bullet into the air to get everyone's attention,

"Okay everyone, let's move out! Let's get onto the battlefield! We will win this fight!" He said before nodding to Roland and Lauren. This would be a fight that would need to be carefully executed, otherwise it would fail.

"Everyone is a monster in a different way," Flyche responded before latching onto Lauren's craft as instructed. He only wished that every creature could get along without all the fighting, although that was an impossible reality. Such thoughts and words would never be true.

"let us all return with our lives."

Flare didn't care much about other people in her unit. As long as she lived she didn't give a damn about anyone else around her. It may seem to be a terrible way to think, but for her it was the only way to think. After all, being raised as an elf isn't a walk through the park. It's a rough life in this time.

Roland lifted his halberd. "Move out!" he shouted to his group. He hopped onto his horse to lead the way. "Let's go!" His horse reared before galloping in front of his troops. "Everyone in position!"

(Nifty, Insectie!)

Akira nodded and dropped the conversation with Flyche. It seemed as though he didn't want to talk anyway. It was as if everyone here was fighting together for the same cause, yet not actually united at all.

She stood in silence, awaiting for orders.

Matthew fired his gun, as the first signal to allow everyone to know that it was time to fight. Carefully aiming his weapon, he began to shot his enemies either in the head or chest, hoping that it would rid of them faster. He took extra precautions to be sure he didn't hit anyone on their side, otherwise he would consider himself a horrible leader.

Flyche took aim carefully, but his shots were extremely fast and even. He was very talented with his bow, so he was able to take aim and fire all within a matter of five seconds. He struck several enemies, each time aiming for the chest. He didn't want to make the monsters suffer too much with the attack, he wanted them to have a quick death, as sort of his way of pitying them.

Flare took the field wielding her sword, carefully taking down each enemy one by one. Each time one was sent to the ground by one of her slashes, she kept count under her breath. She quickly reached fifty, but continued her count, determined to have the highest number of kills over anyone else, even if they weren't counting.

Roland swung his halberd and took down three enemies in one swing. With the long reach of his weapon, this was easy, and he was atop a horse, making it more difficult for his enemies to hit him.

His horse reared, kicking an enemy that had gotten too close in the face, knocking him out at best, killing him with a skull-crushing blow, at worst. Just to be sure, Roland jabbed the beast lying before him with the spear tip of his weapon before continuing the battle.

So far, things were going well, but he couldn't let himself get too cocky. That would surely mean death.

She walked towards the first wave of monsters with a quick draw of her katana, taking down the monsters by a slash at the neck. Quickly, she ducked her head just in time to avoid a clumsy strike to her head, effectively taking down the other behind her. Her second blade still sheathed by her side, her hand hovered near the hilt at times, just to draw min the blade if something happens.
