This is what I entered for the Unicorn contest. The point was to create a human-version of the adoptable at the bottom of this page. Since I can't draw, I submitted a written entry. sweatdrop

Yumegami covered her mouth as she yawned. Yet another fool had decided to ask her for something or another and it was giving her a headache. Why the heck was she supposed to care that the humans were suffering from drought and plague and darkness and every other disaster that could befall mankind? Oh right, she was their patron god.

“Fine,” she grumbled, dropping her silky horse tail she’d been brushing and standing. “I’ll help you.”

“Oh, thank you! Thank you!” the farmer cried, dropping to his knees before her and bowing.

Yumegami rolled her pale gray eyes. To everyone she looked like a child with a horse’s tail and ears poking out from the long red-streaked white hair she wore almost like a bushy mane. She was clad like a priestess, but what separated her clothing from those of her caretakers was the fine pure white fabric with red painted on so perfectly that it could only have been presented to her by the gods. Oh, and one couldn’t forget the delightfully sharp horn peeking out from beneath her ruby bangs in the center of a sun-like pattern traced in crimson. She’d overheard from her place in the shrine again and again that she was far too cute and small for her uninterested and sometimes even mean nature, though in the end she really did care and helped those who came to her. It was just too much fun to give them a hard time.

The supposed god pressed her hands to her forehead on either side of the horn and closed her eyes. A light shone on the tip and grew into something resembling a ball of light. When she opened her eyes, the light exploded like a supernova, nearly blinding the peasant before her.

“There, that should do it,” she said, plopping back down on her cushion before the fire and running the fine brush once more through her tail. “Go outside. Your land and people should already be healed.” Her power hardly fit her nature either, but when the wolf known as Amatarasu found her, it would be rewarded with a brush technique of healing which could be used on itself or on others plagued by curses: the Holy Light technique.

Oh, and for those of you who are wondering, Ranna-san, the artist of the adoptable, really liked this.
