@ Ju-chan: The chapstick would help keep your lip from getting caught as much, we'd hope.
As for Twilight musical... As if Broadway needs a couple emotionless logs. And what would they sing? "I am an emo vampire~ Setting Teenaged Hearts on Fire~! I'm a creepy stalker but don't know it~ You're lucky that you don't get bit~!"
...Yeah, that was supposed to be the crappiest lyrics I could come up with.
Well, "it's not expected to have a very long run" at least. And it seems like it's going to be a bit tongue-in-cheek rather than serious. I mean, the tagline is "'death never sounded so good.'" ...Yeah, I think I'd like to be dead too.

^ I repeat, it seems like it's going to be tongue-in-cheek. A lot like the "A Very Potter Musical" or whatever the HP one was called.

Oh, dear God, they made a HARRY POTTER musical?Destiny's Gate wrote:^ I repeat, it seems like it's going to be tongue-in-cheek. A lot like the "A Very Potter Musical" or whatever the HP one was called.
Aren't these people creative anymore? As for the Twilight thing, didn't ANYONE learn ANYTHING from the Spiderman muscial?
IT JUST DOESN'T WOOOOOOORK....
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
^ The Harry Potter musical is a spoof that a bunch of college kids did. It's actually hilarious.

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
Actually, Shrek the musical was really good, and so was Wicked, and both are based off of other works (a movie and a book, respectively).
And there are no original works. There never have been. Even Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet was based on an earlier work. Actually, plagiarized from a series of... I think they were poems. It was poems or novels. But he stole from that.

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
Heck yes. And Romeo and Juliet can be tracked back to an ancient Greek tragedy.
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
I remember that from my World Lit. class last year. Romeus and Juliette (I think...last year was an exeptionally long time ago.) I think it was.
And I hate when people randomly show up at my house. That seems to happen a lot DX

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
No, that wasn't it. The names had nothing to do with Romeo and Juliet. I seem to remember one was named Thebes, but I can't be sure.
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
OH Pyramis and Thisbe! Yeah, I did not spell that write at all.
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
You mean "right." And I think that is how it's spelled, actually.
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
Spelling: Not my strong suit
Yeah, I learned about it in my Mythology class. I read and thought "This is Romeo and Juliet all over again."

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
That's because it's where it came from! Gotta love archetypes like that.
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
Yes, yes indeed.
And why do people think it's a good idea to steal art and think FOR A MOMENT that the artist won't know it's their's?

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
I borrow art all the time for RPs and avatars and such, but I never claim it's my own. I fail at drawing.
Those who claim it's their own annoy the heck out of me.

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
And then they have terrible excuses and I mean TERRIBLE. As long as you don't claim it as your own, it's cool. And asking the artist can do good stuff too. Though that's not always an option.
Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
I hate people who trace art, create bases, and say to give THEM credit. What about the ORIGINAL artist?

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
That's exactly it: what about them?
People don't care!
And when people color over the original picture and say it's their's. Yeah, that's SMART.

Re: What Grinds my Gears (The Complaint Box)
Depends. Some artists can whip out one of those bases in five minutes, but that takes a lot of practice.
