So the animation looks nice on this one.

Now if only I know what the heck it was about...

My sister and I may go see this either this weekend or next weekend. I've noticed a lot of Jack Frost fanart on the front page of dA. A fandom is born, it seems.

I think it's more because he seems like the angsty teenaged character.

So Russian Santa, Australian Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Sandman, and Jack Front have to work together to defeat the Boogie Man. Boogie man wants to get rid of the "Guardians" (who protect children) so that he can become "real" and rule the world by fear as he did before the Guardians came to be.

Jack, meanwhile, doesn't remember who he was before he was Jack Frost and wants to be believed in and seen by people.

Enter the site and Story is on the bottom fourth from the right. Click on the big pictures for character info and clips with the character. Smile

Turns out, Jack's more than just an angsty teen. He's actually a really awesome character. Though, he ties with Tooth as my favorite. They're all pretty cool though.

I think it has become a cult hit. It hasn't done that great domestically. There is definitely a Jack Frost fandom on dA.

And a Tooth Fairy fandom among the crazy good artists.

I think you'd like it, Ju-chan.

For each their own. Smile I don't expect everyone to like everything I do. If that were true, I would have been the most popular and not most hated person in high school. sweatdrop

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about it?

I felt that because there were so many Guardians, that interaction between one another wasn't to a good extent. Also, they weren't as developed due to the sheer number.

The animation was beautiful, although some of the voices I wasn't fond of as well.

I think they were focusing on Jack's back story the most. It's based on a book series, so it's possible they might make a sequel that might go more into the back stories, or something like the "Furious Five" sub-movie they made with Kung Fu Panda that goes into everyone's past a bit more.

But yeah, I agree, I think I would've liked a bit more to the other Guardians, though if they tried to put too much more in they might have made the movie too long and boring for kids (which is what it's ultimately aimed at).

Yes, I haven't heard an announcement of a sequel. Unfortunately, I've heard it hasn't done well in gaining money. I blame that partially on even when I would see commercials on it, you have no idea what it is about, which I feel turned off a lot of viewers. I think a sequel may have a lower chance, but it's still possible.

I know I couldn't figure out what it was about, even reading the story on their website. sweatdrop I really just went to see it because a friend told me it was pretty good.

Reviews for it were decent enough, though the ones that I read said to avoid the 3D because "it had so much potential in 3D, but it didn't deliver."

Yes, I think the problem was that the movie was okay, but the way the movie was introduced shut many viewers away, because they had no idea what it was about.

I had no idea what it would be about, so when I went to see it, many of my friends didn't want to go since they said it would "suck" simply because they had no idea what is was.

Although I felt the movie lacked in some areas, it certainly didn't "suck".

I actually found an article from a while back about why it didn't seem to do as well. Just a whole bunch of little things that really added up, including, "What's this about?"

I noticed. It was a pretty good movie with wonderful animation. I think it kicked Wreck-It Ralph's butt in the animation department. Story-wise I'd give the edge to Ralph, but characters they were even, I think.

Brave was okay. Except for the (sadly new idea) of not making the princess get together with someone at the end, it's not exactly ground-breaking.
