Behind the Front Lines

Post by Destiny's Gate on Mon Dec 10, 2012 12:40 pm

Plot: When everyone became trapped in the video game Sword Art Online, many people began working together to beat the game. This group is known as "The Front Lines." But what about all those people behind those lines? This is their story.

Rules:
1. Both OCs and characters from the show (i.e. Silica) are allowed. They can't be on the front lines, however (no Kirito, Asuna, etc).
2. Two character max.
3. SAO rules apply (no magic, no attacking in towns, etc)
4. Don't kill off other people's characters without permission.
5. Monsters and NPCs are controlled by everyone unless otherwise stated.
6. Please no AIs.

Characters:
(Anime's characters upon request)
Silica: Destiny's Gate

Character Name: Elena
Username: Insectie
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Weapons: Knife
Skills: Agile, good at sneaking
Short Bio: Elena would be on the front lines, except she has terrible luck. It seems like every random variable comes out against her. This caused her to nearly die several times, so she’s been discouraged from combat. She now uses her high sneak skill to steal most of what she needs, though she somehow manages to get caught fairly often.

Character Name: Kazuto
Username: Insectie
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Weapons: Short sword
Skills: Smooth talking, harp playing
Short Bio: Kazuto wanders from town to town playing his harp in local restaurants and streets. He claims his motivation is to bring his beautiful music to all, though he usually uses it as a way to meet girls. He’s charming, especially with the ladies. Of course, his skills have gone into his playing and talking, so his combat is somewhat lacking.

Name: Keleon
usenrname: kenaron1703
age: 20
gender: male
Weapons: Sword, Shield
Skills: Strength, Intelligence
short bio: Keleon was the leader strategist of a guild in the front lines, but after reaching the 10th floor, he met a girl that died in one of the boss battles, just before they started a life together in the game. After meeting her, he was devastated, and he stopped going to the trainings and parties. He was kicked off of his guild and started a peaceful life in the towns, often doing hunt parties and guard jobs for starters in the in-town life.

Silica sat outside the inn, enjoying a picnic lunch with her dragon, Pina. It was crowded inside, and so she had decided to sit under the tree and watch as people came and went, watching for a certain swordsman in black. She wanted his help, but the likelihood of him being on this level was slim.

She wanted to see him because of the rumored bonus areas. Whispers said that as the front lines cleared the levels ahead, earlier floors revealed secret doors that lead to special bosses and treasure rooms. People also said that no one had actually found these rooms, however, and that the knowledge originated from NPCs.

No one, that is, but Silica. Or really, Pina. Pina had pointed out the secret passage when they'd been training in the dungeon. She'd poked her head in, saw the powerful monsters, and high-tailed it out. If she wanted to conquer it, she would need a team, and it seemed like she'd have to find someone besides Kirito.

Elena was looking around the park for some food, or more accurately someone to swipe some from. Since her horrible luck has kept her from getting many kills and gold, she's been forced to turn to a life of crime. One girl in particular looked like a good target: she was staring off into the crowd and lost in thought. Elena began to casually walk up behind the girl.

Kazuto meanwhile was busy scanning the crowd for an entirely different purpose. There are some cute ladies in this town. I might have to play here more often. He was sitting right outside the inn, playing his harp casually for the passersby.
