Tackling the Monster Invasion

You're living in a world where the monster's population continues to grow. Everyone has pulled together and decided to take volunters, the royal army, and anyone drafted to fight against these monsters, whose number continues to increase. To begin, there are several types of monsters, three classes of fighters, and other aspects to look at.

Monsters

Monsters that you will have to face are mainly on this list, but aren't limited to these. Everyone can roleplay as a monster, as in "Monster A" or "Monster B", so it's simple and faster to elimate them.

  • Zombies
  • Centuars
  • Evil Eyeball
  • Skeletons
  • Living Dead
  • Hell Wolves
  • Ogres
  • Dragons
  • Gargoyles

Warrior Classes

There are exactly three warrior classes that you're character can fall into. Under each class, there is a list of warriors that fall under each list, but it's not limited to those warriors. If you are unsure of what class you're character falls into, don't be afraid to ask.

Old-fashioned Class

The old fashioned class is basically any character that fights with old fasioned weapons, such as swords. The best guideline for this class is everything but guns.

  • Lords/Ladies (on foot, sword, lance, bow, or axe)
  • Great Lords (horseback, sword, lance, bow, or axe)
  • Archer (bow)
  • Sniper (bow)
  • Warrior (sword, lance, or axe)
  • Cavalier (horseback, bow, sword, lance, or axe)
  • General (heavy armor, sword, lance, or axe)
  • Great General (horseback, heavy armor, sword, lance, or axe)

Modern Class

The Modern Class basically consists of warriors that use weapons that require gun powder, such as rifles. NOTE: No tanks or heavy duty machines in this class. **By guns, I also mean weapons such as flamethrowers, etc as well.

  • Lords/Ladies (on foot)
  • Great Lords/Ladies (horseback or motorcycles)
  • Sniper (guns)
  • Gunman (light weight guns)
  • Warrior (heavy duty guns)
  • Cavalier (horseback, light weight guns)
  • General (heavy armor, any type of gun)
  • Great General (heavy armor, horseback or motorcycles, any type of gun)

Heavy Machineary Class

This class consists of warriors that operate heavy matilery, such as tanks, planes, helicopters, cannons, and other types of huge mechanical weapons.

  • Lords/Ladies (planes, helicopters, or cannons)
  • Great Lords/Ladies (tanks, etc)
  • Warrior (planes, helicopters, cannons)
  • Great Warrior (tanks, planes, etc.)
  • General (tanks)
  • Great General (planes equipped with nuclear bombs, tanks, etc.)

Rules/General Guidelines:

  • Three characters per user.
  • OCs only.
  • All monsters are played by everyone.
  • Don't "accidently" kill off someone's character.
  • You're characters aren't expected to get along with other ones, but try for them to generally get along.
  • Try to have a variety of different character for your three, for example, don't have three Generals in the Heavy Machineary class.
  • Try to keep your characters at least 18, so old enough for the army.
  • Your character doesn't have to be human, but don't have a race that is on the monster list please.
  • No special powers, to keep everything simple.
  • Make sure you fill out the proper profile code.

Tackling the Monster Invasion -anime-guy-

Flyche was seated at a wooden bench, that was able to be folded up, outside of his tent. He was at the mobilizing armies camp. Since he was a guest to the army, meaning he usually wasn't in it, he would get special honors if he helped solve the monster problem. He was polishing his silver bow, then he would work on creating more arrows. He never bought anything. He always made everything by hand when it came to his bow, which is why it's so powerful, because he created it himself. He was one of the only people he knew that would be able to wield it. That's when he noticed more bowsmen, who were out preparing for the battle as well,

"Everyone getting ready before the we invade?" He asked, he was French, but he was at least able to speak fulent english, despite his accent.

Tackling the Monster Invasion FemaleFireSwordsman1

Flare, meanwhile, was sparing with a wooden sword against other swordsmen. She wasn't a talkative person, and felt she would only work with humans so that she could get her job done. Being an elf, she could use magic if she wished, but she would much rather cut down her enemies with a sword. Although, she sometimes added fire to her attacks to make them more powerful. She continued to spar until all of her sparring partners were taken down. She had barely worked up a sweat. She glanced over to see the general, who happened to be observing,

"Like what you see?" She stated quickly.

Tackling the Monster Invasion EmoAnimeGuy

Matthew let out a smile, he wasn't a very serious guy. He tended to goof off often, and flirt, but when he's on the battlefield, he flips over his personality and become completely serious. He didn't want to lose anyone in his troops, let alone let anyone innocent die,

"Yes, I'm glad to have you aboard," He said before continuing to wander around, checking on all the camps, "keep it up!"

Tackling the Monster Invasion 1129241230_0916002635

Just outside the campgrounds, a young woman was practicing with her bow in arrow. She stood in front of an old Oak tree with four targets painted on it. Three arrows had already struck the top three targets dead-center. She lifted her bow, squinting her left eye. The female archer steadied the bow and made a quick release. The arrow flew swiftly through the air.

Dead on. Just like the others. The young woman grinned triumphantly as she walked toward to the tree to gather the four arrows she had shot. Although she had done exceptional, she knew she could do even better. Her confidence had been growing the last few weeks, however.

After Akira had left her small village several weeks ago, she had began to change. She knew it was for the better, though. She was ready to take on the monsters that lurked beyond her village. Her people were depending on her after all.

"Brilliant shot," Roland commented behind Akira. "You haven't missed a target yet all morning, have you?" He hoped he hadn't surprised her too much. He was her superior officer, and because of his elf herritage had a bad habbit of being too quiet and "sneaking up on" people. "You seem more than ready to take care of those monsters."

The ex-marine Markus was killing time in a typical marine way: fighting stuff. In an army this large, it wasn't hard to find people to spar against, but worthy opponents were hard to come by even without his power armor. Then he spotted the last seconds of a fight. One warrior easily one, and by the weary people surrounding -- her? He wasn't used to seeing females in combat as they wern't allowed in the army in his country. Her graceful yet powerful fighting intrigued him. This might be interesting. he thought.
He walked over after the general had left,
"Impressive..." he told her with a slight smile.

Lauren spent most of her time with the most important of her possessions. Like a swordsman cares greatly for his sword or a sniper cleans his gun meticulously, she personally serviced and inspected every part of her aircraft. Sadly, she was the only real pilot here; there were a few other flyers here, but they were amateurs in her eyes.
She couldn't wait till the shooting started...

Flyche was glad that everything seemed well. He could tell they were lacking in one thing though: Food supply. It wasn't that they didn't have a sufficient amount, he just felt that most of the food wasn't very good for energy. So he set out for some hunting. He wouldn't be gone too long. Within five minutes, he returned with two deer carcases as well as a few rabbits. Then, he went up to the main tent, to see what unit he was going to be assigned to, though he already knew. He would be in a unit with other long range soldiers, like those who wield bows, guns, and other long distance weapons.

Flare placed the wooden sword to the ground, then drew her real deal sword. It was a rather amazingly detailed blade, when describing the groves and inscribed art. She then chopped a few trees apart with great speed, for fire wood. She then began to pick up the sliced logs, and approached the one who had commented on her skill. She brushed some bangs out of her face,

"A sword isn't a weapon. It's a skill you must master."

Tackling the Monster Invasion EmoAnimeGuy

Matthew was now at the main tent, putting together the units, deciding that they would be grouped based on weaponry and divine stragedy.

"Thank you," Akira replied to her superior officer, not phased by him sneaking up on her.

She continued collecting her arrows and quickly packed the up. "So, are we being placed in units today, sir?" she inquired.

Markus looked at the woman's real sword, then down at his wooden one, then back at her real sword. Not going to work... He didn't normally carry his chainsword with him since it was too unwieldy when not in his power armor.
"Looks like we're going to have to finish this another day," he said, "for now, do you want any help carrying the firewood?"

Oh, that was right. He was sent out to tell the troops that they'd be put in their units. Yet another way that the leading general of the expedition, known to despise not only halflings but elves as well, was undermining Roland's authority as a leutenant.

"Yes. Units are going to be announced by the main tent. Please head there immediately."

Outside the camp grounds, Kaida glanced around. The forest outside the camp site is a really good place to train her swordplay. She sighed. All the volunteers and various army units are focused on tackling on the monster invasion. Feeling like an odd one out, she dwells in her original reason for joining the army.

She is just taking advantage of the army against the invasion so as to gather information. A vague flash of an unknown emblem is the only clue to her identity. She shook her head. Now's not the time to think about such irrelevant thoughts. It's lucky that she can still "kill" with that trusty blade of hers. She should be worrying whether she's cut out to be part of the army.

She had seen Flare taking down every other sword-wielder smoothly, looking as if... she is searching for another vic- opponent to spar. She bound the blindfold over her eyes, tight.

And her training begins...

Little did Flyche know, however, that he was wrong. The stragedist general had something different in mind. He approached the tent and entered, getting ready to hear the plans. It seemed that Matthew was going to wait until everyone arrived before starting to give the stragedy. He glanced down at the plans with his hawk eye before sitting down. He noticed a few strange ideas to the plan, but didn't speak a word, deciding to wait until they are explained.

Tackling the Monster Invasion FemaleFireSwordsman1

Flare pushed some hair back behind her long, pointy, elven ear. She picked up about half of them, then agreed,

"Okay. Besides, we have to go to the main tent for assignments soon," She replied, she waited for Markcus to pick up the rest then began to walk. They were close to the main tent (where the wood would be dropped outside of) before she brought up a point of conversation, "Is that a human invention?" She asked, refering to the suit.

Tackling the Monster Invasion EmoAnimeGuy

Matthew had an amazing plan put together, he just had to make sure that it would work, by getting the okay from a few of his soldiers. He knew every single soldier by name. That was the one amazing talent he had, he always remembered names, so he refered to everyone by their name. It made plenty of the soldiers feel much more welcome and hold more respect for him when leading.

Roland went around camp, calling everyone to the main grounds of the encampment to recieve orders. He, like the main strategist of the army, knew everyone by name, something he'd picked up from the man he almost considered a mentor in strategizing.

When he'd finished going around the camp, he realized one person was missing. Where's Kaida this time? he thought, heading to the edge of camp. She liked to stay away from the rest of the people; he'd realized that a long time ago. And by now, he knew where to look for her.

"Kaida," he called when he heard the sounds of her training, "there's an announcement for all the troops. We're assigning orders." He still couldn't see her in the trees, but he knew she could hear him. The girl had impeccable hearing. "Kaida, where are you? We're going to be..." He trailed off when a large bush rustled. "Kaida?"

Wrong. A centaur came out of the underbrush, bowstring drawn back and arrow aimed right at Roland's chest. And here Roland was without his weapon. "Shit."

It happened quickly. Roland dove out of the way just as the arrow fired. Where he was seconds before was now an arrow. He had to run. He had to get help and warn people. Most of all, he had to find Kaida. "Kaida!" he shouted, dodging yet another arrow. "Get back to camp now! Get some help! Armed help! Centaur!"

"Kaida..." She paused. What...? Only one name registered in her. Roland. And what a good timing too... she had nearly finished her training...

That is when something sounds... or feels wrong. Something is not supposed to be there. Kaida moved stealthy to where Roland might be, blindfold still covering her vision. A few moments later, Roland cursed, which confirmed her suspicion... Monster.

She cursed. Roland must be weaponless. And not to mention that it will be too late to reach to the camp to get armed help. It's either to aid Roland and finish the job quickly... or leave him to fend for himself while she get back to the camp as soon as possible. Neither of these options are ideal, considering their safety.

Hiding behind the dense woods, she removed the blindfold, immediately accessing her pre- the centaur. Just a bow wielding one... and also a possibility of another ambush... A smirk graced across her normally expressionless look. I might as well finish off that thing...

She changed into a stance instantly, charged towards the centaur with the katana she wield, intending to slice it into half.

"It is. Made on Mars as they say. It increases my strength and agility ten-fold," he continued while picking up the rest of the firewood in one arm for the sole purpose of showing off, "mine's a custom variant, specialized for close-quarters combat and painted red." He looked at her as he started walking towards the tent. "I hated the frilly blue and gold I had to wear."

Hearing a call to gather, Lauren changed out of the shirt she was wearing for the maintenance and headed towards the main tent.

Akira made her way to the main tent. She stood silently, eavesdropping on some of the other conversations among her comrades. She never really spoke unless she was spoken to, as she wasn't used to being around people who were very different from her villagers. It wasn't that she felt superior to them, though. Sighing, she lifted up her bow and studied it silently. It was definitely time for a new one; however, she was too attached to the one she currently had. She smiled slightly, memories flooding back into her head.

"Careful! This one's a big one!" Roland shouted, rolling out of the way as the centaur's heavy hooves came down. Had he been there a second longer, the hooves would have crushed his skull.

The centaur reared at Kaida, pawing the air, attempting to punch her in the face with a hoof. Roland took the chance and lept onto it's back, pulling the creature's human-like neck into a strangle hold.

Shocked, the centaur grabbed at Roland's arms, trying to get the half-elf off, but Roland held firm. The monster let out a rasping shout, tried to sink its teeth into his arm, anything to get Roland off, but the struggle left it breathless.

The centaur's legs folded beneath it as the lack of oxygen made it dizzy. When it had slipped into unconciousness, Roland staggered away. "Kill it," he said. "It'll be a huge problem if it wakes back up."

With a quick slash by the blade, Kaida sliced off the head of the centaur. Frowning slightly, she realised that she had underestimated how quick the centaur had been. That little mistake might have proved fatal if Roland had not strangled it successfully...

My attack actually missed... So much for a surprise attack.

Kaida picked up the bow. There is no way that there will be only one centaur "hiding" around this area. There might be more... And I can't believe that I can't take that monster down on my own... She shook away that thought. Why is Roland here anyway...? Oh...

She turned to Roland abruptly. "Back to the camp to receive orders?"

"Still," he added, "we'll have to report this attack." He patted Kaida on the shoulder. "You did well. Just don't underestimate your opponent again." With that, he started heading back to the camp.

That comment anger Markus greatly, but it would be better saved for those damn things.
He chuckled, "Pathatic? Ha! After this is over, lets duel and find who's truly the pathetic one. For now though, how about we see who can kill more of those bastard monsters."

...Typical elf arrogance.
