Re: War on Women
Yeah and the Republicans are ticked and want him out. However, they drafted their platform today and are wanting abortion to be illegal... No matter what the circumstances are. What a bunch of hypocrites!

I love Hobby Lobby. I also love Mardel's, which is in fact a Christian-based store as they sell bibles and such (Myself and a lot of people get our lesson plan assignments laminated for a cheap price at Mardels). I didn't realize the Hobby Lobbys here were owned by the same family, though. Either way, I think if corporations want to opt-out of this part of the Health Care Act, then they should be allowed to. I think it'll just make matters worse if they can't, because they'll just start discriminating against their employees if those employees want the morning-after pill or birth control.

^ I disagree. I think that it's the employers responsibility to make sure that their workers are safe, healthy and happy. If not, then they aren't doing their jobs to ensure that things get done. The stigma against BC and the morning after needs to be addressed.
Seriously, it makes me angry when people call women nasty names because they're on the Pill. I mentioned that I was on the Pill to the receptionist in my doctor's office once, and this totally strange couple just gives me a nasty look like I'm the scum of the earth. I told them, "Don't give me that . It's none of your business. Nor is it your place to judge. Grow up."

Re: War on Women
Some people don't realize that birth control is used for many different reasons. If someone is on the pill, it doesn't mean that they're messing around. Those people who think that are terribly misinformed or just plain ignorant - probably both.
There was a comment on that article that really bothered me. The woman said that she just got a tubal litigation procedure done, and she basically said that if women don't want kids, then they should do that. However, there are some women out there that feel uncomfortable doing that, just like there are men out there uncomfortable with getting a vasectomy done. Some couples probably feel more comfortable with using birth control if they don't want kids. I've heard people say that couples shouldn't even have sex at all if they don't want to procreate. The problem is, we as human beings aren't exactly animals. We don't just have sex to procreate. People just need to mind their own business about other peoples' personal healthcare practices.

Re: War on Women
A tubal litigation is an invasive procedure. It's not comfortable in the least. It's misogynistic to even say that it's simple and painless.

Re: War on Women
The reason the healthcare bill makes companies--even "Christian Values" ones--provide birth control is to protect the religious freedom of the employees, as they said in that article.
My biggest argument for there to be birth control available to everyone is that "if they're good followers of -insert religion here-, they won't use it. That shouldn't limit everyone else to force everyone to be followers of -insert religion here- just so you can force your believers--and everyone else--to not take it."

And Republicans say this stuff doesn't work and should be banned.

Yeah. We need to get rid of asses like him. Because having sex with an underage girl is rape according to the law, since non-adults can't give consent.
Re: War on Women
I wish more Republican women would speak out against this nonsense.

Re: War on Women
Well, the moderator for next week's presidential debate is going to be a women. So, maybe there'll be some women's rights questions thrown in there. There might even be some tonight during the vice presidential debate.

Re: War on Women
The problem is that Romney's changing his answers on the women stuff again. What's worse, there are women who believe him.
Re: War on Women
Yep, the abortion question was asked. Biden believes that life begins at conception, but he doesn't think that it is right to impose his belief on others who may not feel the same. Epic win.
