The Original Character Roleplaying High School

Seraphim gaped at the huge house. Compared to this place, her own home seemed like a cardboard box. "It's so huge!" she gasped. "A-are you sure I can just go in?" She felt like she needed a fairy godmother just to get through the gate.

As they walked through the house, Seraphim stared at everything. She almost felt like one of those tourists who wander around the old big fancy mansions in New York. When they reached Rena's room, her jaw dropped. Sure, there were books everywhere, but the room was almost as big as Seraphim's whole house--okay, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it was at least twice as big as her own room.

Seraphim sat on the bed. "Your room is amazing," she said, shocked. "Your entire house is."

"You don't have any brothers or sisters?" Seraphim said, suprised.

Seraphim looked around the room in surprise. There were so many instruments. "You're lucky you can play the piano," she said. "I can't play any instruments. Well, my mom let me take a few violin lessons when I was little, but my dad stopped that after she died." Seraphim walked over to a violin and opened the case. "She passed away when I was little, so I don't remember her too well, but I know she could play violin really well."

Gingerly, Seraphim picked the violin up and rested her chin on it. She plucked a few strings, found it totally out of tune, and asked Rena to play an A on the piano. She then tuned the strings as best she could and pulled the bow across the strings.

It was a beautiful tone, and surpisingly in tune for someone who hadn't tuned an instrument since she was seven. She fingered a few notes, but only ended up playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." She laughed. "My mother said I was really good at it, but I guess I don't remember much. I can read music to a certain extent, but it might take me a little bit."

Seraphim knew her dad would never approve. He didn't want her going out, making friends, possibly telling them about her home life. If it hadn't been for the fact the police would come if she didn't go to school he'd have kept her locked in her room for the rest of her life. "No... I don't think my dad would let me." She set the violin back in its case sadly and picked up a cloth to wipe the rosin from the strings. "He doesn't really like me doing stuff after school. Or before school. Or weekends."

There was a chair near the piano bench, which Seraphim took. She closed her eyes and let the music wash over her. It was beautiful.

When the tune was over, she opened her eyes again and said, "I wish I could play with you, but I'm nowhere good enough for that."

Eliot grinned at Lucy. "There's a first for everything, especially for a pretty girl like you." He stood and offered the girl a hand. "Here, let me take you home."

Eliot nodded. So she lived somewhere. That meant she couldn't be a ghost.

He led her to his car, and then opened the door for her. "Hop in."

"Kay." Seraphim gladly followed Rena back to her room. The house was so big, she'd probably get lost on her own. "So what are all these books about?" she asked, picking up one of them.

"Wow," Seraphim said, impressed. She had maybe four books in her house, and they were hidden under her bed so her dad wouldn't burn them or throw them out in rage. "I haven't really read anything in a while."

"So how do I get there?" Eliot asked, turning the ignition and leaving the parking lot. When he got the directions, he started two the left. They drove in silence for a few minutes, but he felt he had to give some conversation. "So... what do you do for fun? Do you like music or movies?"
