High School Never Ends

Zidane was slowly ambling over to his new room with his new roommate. He wasn't really looking forward to it. Okay, so he was. He couldn't wait to pickpocket a bunch of people in the dorms. He was good at hiding his booty, and he never took anything big or important enough for people to notice it was missing. That was what was so wonderful about his job, if you could call it such. Technically, he was a travelling performer with a semi-famous troupe that had performed at castles and such. In reality, he was part of a group of theives posing as traveling performers, and he was teh best of the bunch.

He reached his room and dumped his things on the bed. He'd organize it all later. Maybe.

Namine had gotten to the school quite early and had already unpacked. She had gone down to the club fair to see what there was to join at the school. Not so much, she was sad to find, that interested her. There was a knitting club and other crafts, but she preferred drawing, and no such club existed. Then she saw the student council table.

"Um, hello. What exactly is student council?"

Misaki looked up. Wonderful! A girl! She could always use more girls on her council than those slovenly boys. "I'm glad you asked," she said, putting on a winning smile. "Student council is in charge of funding for activities and events at this school for the students, and is in charge of overseeing those events as well. We also act as a gobetween for students and faculty." She hoped that would be enough to entice the girl before her. "I'm Misaki Ayuzawa, the student council president. And you are?"

"Namine," she replied. "Could I join?"

"Of course." Misaki wrote down her name. "Here's a flyer with all the information on it. Our first meeting will be after classes on Monday, so don't be late."

"Oh, hey," Zidane said, noticing his roommate. "I'm Zidane. You?" He didn't have much else to say to this other guy, but he did eye his things. Nice things. Probably from Shibuya. That would make some good stealing later.

Zidane frowned. Boy, was this guy antisocial. "So what're you listening to?" he asked, trying to strike up a conversation. "Anything good?"

Namine headed back to her room after a brief discussion with Misaki and found Green with Squirtle. She looked from the girl to the Pokemon and back and asked, "Were we allowed to have pets?" She honestly didn't know, but she didn't mind. She'd been alone for a long time. A pet wouldn't be a bad thing to have around.

Misaki smiled at the small number of signatures for the club. Hopefully there would be more people joining the council, but for now, this was a good number. "I'm going to go introduce myself to the students in the dorms," she said to one of her fellow council members, standing. "I'll be back soon." She then headed to the dorms to knock on doors, introduce herself, and give them all the emergency numbers and that sort of thing.

"I wanted to know what you were listening to and if it was any good," Zidane repeated, flopping back down onto his bed. "Doesn't really matter, though." He then dug in his things and whipped out a script for the play his troupe would be putting on soon. He was the lead this time, so he had to have all this down.

"Oh, I'm Namine," she replied. "And I won't tell anyone about Squirtle here." She knelt down and scratched the turtle under its chin. "You're so cute," she informed the Pokemon, petting it.

The first room Misaki made it to was Ulrich's. She knocked on the door. "Ulrich? Lucian? Anybody home?" she called, hoping someone would answer right away so she could move on to the girls' rooms quicker.

Namine stared at the strange red and white orbs. "Um... I don't mean to sound... well..." She wasn't sure how to put this. "How do they fit in those little balls?"

Misaki smiled. "Just a little. I'm Misaki Ayuzawa, the student council president. I just wanted to introduce myself, give you the emergency numbers for the dorms, and the dorm and roommate agreements." She offered the small packet of papers. "You and your roommate have to sign the dorm and roommate agreements. So, do you have any questions for me?"

"Pretty big place, Shibuya," Zidane commented absently, reading through his lines.

"Unless you have a big bird, I don't think jumping out would be a good idea," Namine replied. "But it must be pretty cool, to use Pokemon." Namine dug in her bag and pulled out her sketch book. "Would you mind if I drew Squirtle here?"

"No, that's it," Misaki said. "If you have any other questions, you can find me at the end of the hall on the girls' side." She then moved on to the next room, Zidane and Neku's, and knocked. "Hello?"

"Coming!" Zidane hopped off the bed, happy to at last have something to do. He got the same speech Ulrich had heard, and when that was done, he called over to Neku, "Hey! Got any questions before the Student Council President leaves?" He himself had none.

"All right, if there's nothing else, I'll move on." She headed for the next room, this one with two faceless people she knew wouldn't be important. The next few doors were also like that. While she was glad not to find any trouble makers, the boys' rooms seemed to be endless.

At last she reached Emil's door, and Sho's was the next on the list, and then she'd be done.

Zidane frowned at his roommate. The guy was no fun. Oh well. "I'm heading down to the club fair or whatever. See ya." He had full intent of joining the drama club. He was a professional, but while he was trapped in school like this, it would be a lot harder to perform with his troupe. He'd just have to practice with the school, then.

"Really?" Namine loved drawing things. "I would love to draw them all!"

"What? Of course not. I'm Misaki Ayuzawa, the Student Council President. I just wanted to hand you this packet of information about residency and answer any questions you might have." She paused a moment, seeing the boy was on the verge of crying, then pulled her handkercheif from her pocket and offered it to him. He reminded her of someone... "Was someone picking on you?"
