Clara blushed and nodded before finishing her salad.

Finished with his food, Julius left the credits on the table and stood. "Well, shall we?"

Clara frowned when Julius offered a hand to the other winged being and looked at the Tick Tock with narrowed eyes. She was instantly shot back with a "too look less suspicious" statement and shrugged it off. If he asked her, he was being too careful to cover his tracks.

Julius led the two up to the room on the second floor, but before he pulled out the key he realized the door was open. "Clara," he hissed.

The girl nodded and reached out with her mind. "What's he doing here?" She was so surprised that she hadn't even realized she'd spoken out loud. "That guy who gave us our... odd job."

The Hard-To-Get man was relaxing comfortably in the room's chair when he felt the mental touch of the psychic girl, followed quickly by her companion's shouting.

"Calm down, Julius." he said quietly, "We never finished the plan. I want to make sure this goes smoothly."

Julius narrowed his eyes. "This is a risk I'd rather not have!" He ushered the other two in and locked the door behind him. "Clara, watch the door. Make sure no one comes near here." When she nodded, he rounded once more on the Hard-To-Get-Man. "We're just to kill the king. It's not that difficult a job for us. Now leave beofre you screw everything up."

"Maybe. Probably. But that's a risk I can't take. I have too much at stake here, so I'm getting my hands dirty this time.

Do you have a plan to subdue the king, for more than three seconds at least?"

Julius frowned. "I understood that you had wanted use to kill, not subdue. Killing is one thing. Subduing is completely different. That requires that he's still alive. Why on earth would you want him alive?" He frowned. "I want another half a million for this now."

"Money? That's the issue?" The Hard-To-Get man smiled, "Done."

"I aim to... 'bring him to justice'. Once the public see him for what he really is, then things will change. And being the one to enact this justice, I'll come out on top. Not to rule, no, I am to become a hero of the people." This is as honest about his motives as the Hard-To-Get man had ever been.

"People know how horrible he is already," Clara snapped, using her real voice for once. "They're just too scared to talk about it!"

Julius sighed and turned to their new winged friend. "Would you mind helping us? This was actually what I wanted to discuss before he came." He gestured at the other man. "We'll give you a cut."

Clara heard the stray thought from Igni and took his hand. Yes, she thought. It would. Maybe have been killed at the king's hands.

He looked at the other man in the room, "I'm Igni."
